Professor Antonio Terracciano serves currently as a Professor in the Department of Geriatrics at the Florida State University College of Medicine. Previously, he was a staff scientist at the National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health (NIH). His research examines how psychological, cultural, and genetic factors contribute to physical and mental health across the lifespan. His work focuses on how personality changes with age, how personality varies across cultures, and how personality contributes to longevity and resilience against diseases of aging, such as Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

With the support of the Fulbright Finland Foundation, he is visiting Gerontology Reasearch Center GEREC at the University of Jyväskylä from mid-May to mid-June. The goal of his visit is to advance collaborative research on the potential moderating effect of personality traits on physical and cognitive training in older adults.
