CoEs are flagships of Finnish research that are expected to carve out new avenues for research, develop creative research environments and train new talented researchers. CoE AgeCare studies the transformation of ageing and care using novel conceptual and interdisciplinary perspectives, conjoining the analysis of diversification of everyday life to that of ongoing profound societal and policy change. The CoE combines scholarship from social policy, sociology and gerontology, analysing older people\u2019s care needs, agency and equality as well as the changing character of care work.<\/p>\n<p>The Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE AgeCare) is a joint centre of four research groups and three universities (University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, Tampere University, University of Helsinki), which is led by professor Teppo Kr\u00f6ger, University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The research groups focus on different thematic areas but work closely together. Research groups are led by professor Teppo Kr\u00f6ger (care, care policy, comparative care research), University Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, professor Sakari Taipale (digitalization, transforming care work), University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, professor Sirpa Wrede (transnationalisation, migrant carers, care work), University of Helsinki, and docent Outi Jolanki (PI period 2023-2025) and professor emerita Marja Jylh\u00e4 (PI period 2018-2022). Tampere University research group has two main thematic areas which fall under studies on population ageing, health and functional ability of older people, and studies on agency of older adults in matters of care, wellbeing, housing and living environment. Huippuyksikk\u00f6 yhdist\u00e4\u00e4 arkiel\u00e4m\u00e4n monimuotoistumisen analyysin yhteiskunta- ja politiikkatason tutkimukseen ja sen toiminta perustuu sosiaalipolitiikan, sosiologian ja gerontologian tutkijoiden tiiviiseen yhteisty\u00f6h\u00f6n, jonka kautta analysoidaan ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyv\u00e4n v\u00e4est\u00f6n hoivatarpeita, toimijuutta ja tasa-arvoa sek\u00e4 muutoksessa olevaa hoivaty\u00f6t\u00e4.\r\n\r\nCoE AgeCare on nelj\u00e4n tutkimusryhm\u00e4n ja kolmen yliopiston (Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto, Tampereen yliopisto, Helsingin yliopisto) yhteinen huippuyksikk\u00f6, jota johtaa Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston professori Teppo Kr\u00f6ger. Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopistosta mukana ovat professori Teppo Kr\u00f6gerin (hoiva, hoivapolitiikka) sek\u00e4 professori Sakari Taipaleen (digitalisaatio, hoivaty\u00f6) ryhm\u00e4t. Helsingin yliopistosta mukana on professori Sirpa Wreden (hoivaty\u00f6, maahanmuuttajataustaiset hoitajat, maahanmuutto ja hoivatarpeet) ryhm\u00e4. Tampereen yliopiston tutkimusryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 tarkastellaan yht\u00e4\u00e4lt\u00e4 v\u00e4est\u00f6n ik\u00e4\u00e4ntymisen ja i\u00e4kk\u00e4iden toimintakyvyn kehityst\u00e4 sek\u00e4 ik\u00e4\u00e4ntyvien ihmisten toimijuutta hyvinvoinnin, hoivan, asuin- ja elinymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmista. Tampereen huippuyksikk\u00f6\u00e4 johtaa kaudella 2023-2025 dosentti Outi Jolanki ja varajohtajana toimii emeritaprofessori Marja Jylh\u00e4 (johtaja 2018-2022).
