In addition, the effects of a combined strength-power training to lower limb muscle strength, muscle power and asymmetry was investigated. Data was collected during the years 2004-2005 and it consists over 60-year-old community-dwelling men and women (n=78) who had suffered a hip fracture and were operated in Central Finland Central Hospital between the years of 1998 and 2004. Participants without contraindications for strength training were further randomized to three months strength-power training intervention (n=46). Cross-sectional data of age-matched reference group of community-dwelling older people (n=31) without major lower limb injuries or hip or knee replacement surgery within the previous 15 years were also collected.<\/p>\n<p>Study investigated e. g. muscle strength and power, mobility, physical functional capacity, residual pain, balance, physical activity and bone characteristics of older people with hip fracture history. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin vuosina 2004-2005 ja se kohdistui yli 60-vuotiaisiin, kotona asuviin, itsen\u00e4isesti liikkuviin, vuosina 1998 ja 2004 Keski-Suomen keskussairaalassa leikattuihin lonkkamurtumapotilaisiin (n=78). Tutkittavat, joilla ei ollut kontraindikaatioita intensiiviselle voimaharjoittelulle, satunnaistettiin 3 kuukautta kest\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4n kokeelliseen tutkimukseen (n=46). Lis\u00e4ksi ker\u00e4ttiin vastaava poikkileikkausaineisto saman ik\u00e4isist\u00e4 kontrollitutkittavista (n=31), joilla ei ollut viimeisen 15 vuoden aikana alaraajamurtumia eik\u00e4 lonkan tai polven tekonivelleikkauksia.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Tutkittavilta selvitettiin mm. lihasvoimaa, liikkumis- ja toimintakyky\u00e4, tuki- ja liikuntaelimist\u00f6n kipua, tasapainoa, fyysist\u00e4 aktiivisuutta sek\u00e4 luuston kuntoa.
