Active ageing, life-space mobility and physical activity
University of Jyväskylä
The INTERACT study explores contextual mobility in older adults, focusing on how individuals adapt their walking in outdoor environments across seasons.
Our aim is to study trajectories of daily activity behavior in older adults from pre-COVID19 to at-, and post-COVID19, and to study its underlying environmental factors, while accounting for personal factors.
Within the project, an individualized support (Löytävä luontotyö) and a community support (MieliLiike) intervention model are developed to strengthen the mental well-being, functioning, and nature connectedness of older adults (65+) who provide care for their close one.
Using wearable technologies and advanced analytical methods, the group quantifies health-related aspects of daily physical activity
